Public toilets

The City of Stockholm operates approximately 100 public toilets around the city. Some of these are free and others cost five Swedish kronor to use.

The City’s public toilets must be accessible. Many of them have been adapted for the mobility impaired and equipped to make life easier for people with gastrointestinal diseases. The toilets are cleaned daily, with extra cleaning when required.

In addition to the City’s toilets, private or public businesses can offer toilets that are open to the public.

New public toilets

Starting in March 2026, the City is installing 65 new public toilets. During 2026 and 2027, one or two toilets will be installed each week, both in the inner city and the outer districts.

The new public toilets cost SEK 10 to use. You can easily pay by card when you visit.

Several of the new public toilets also have a bicycle pump on the outside.
